In August 2016, what started as a simple joke during our many trips to our favorite tea shop (and having spent way too much money) turned into the beginning of a beautiful journey. My dear friend & sister in law, Erica, was the driving force behind my decision to open our own tea shop. Despite the challenges that came our way, Erica stood by me every step of the way. As September rolled around I decided to make a go of it and dove into small business courses, eager to learn and grow. By November, life took an unexpected turn when Erica received the devastating news of her illness, and she sadly passed away not soon after on March 31, 2017.
In July 2017 I set up our first tea blends in a local vendor store and quickly grew into my first brick and mortar location. As I reflect on our journey together, I am reminded of the strength and resilience Erica embodied. She may no longer be physically with us, but her presence is felt in every cup of tea served, in every smile exchanged with our customers, and in every moment of joy shared in this business she helped create.
When I had to close my shop at the beginning of the covid pandemic I jumped into more of the herbal side of things, learning about natural remedies and how to incorporate them into my everyday life. I got many certificates through The Herbal Academy during this time and when I opened my new shop in 2023 I included more herbs for my customers to purchase along with even more knowledge.
